Community Medical Center
About the Community
Missoula is a thriving community of 90,000, nestled in the Rocky Mountains of western Montana between Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks. Missoula is the region’s major medical and retail center, with a cultural diversity unique to a city of its size, and unlimited outdoor recreation for every season. The city is home to The University of Montana, often giving the surrounding area a “college-town” feel. Missoula is the focal point of five valleys, and major north-south and east-west highways pass through. Missoula International Airport is served by daily flights on several national airlines.
About the Hospital
Community Medical Center is located on a 45-acre campus in Missoula, Montana, and has been providing obstetrical and newborn care longer than any other facility in Missoula County. In addition, it is one of only three facilities in the state offering high-risk obstetrical care and neonatal intensive care. A neonatal referral center, we receive mothers and infants from throughout western Montana and Idaho. Maternal and neonatal emergency transport services are available. Community Medical Center is the only hospital in western Montana that has a separate Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for kids. Through our affiliation with Seattle Children’s Hospital, we offer comprehensive pediatric subspecialty care to the region.
In addition to a broad range of surgical and medical services, Community Medical Center’s Rehabilitation Center is the largest, most comprehensive, and longest-standing program of its kind in the state of Montana. It is noted for its brain and spinal cord injury, as well as stroke and orthopedic rehab programs. It includes a transitional day treatment program for brain-injury survivors.
